Harvard University’s CTSA is offering an opportunity for non-Harvard faculty and staff to participate in an online course, Fundamentals of Clinical and Translational Research (FaCToR).

Applications are due by January 25, 2017.

FaCToR offers an overview of the concepts of clinical/translational research through the dynamic and interactive medium of online learning. As a selected participant of this online course, you will learn about the spectrum of clinical and translational research from first-in-human studies to healthcare interventions implemented on a population level.

Course participants will learn the research methods used across the spectrum of clinical and translational research, including how to:

  • Design rigorous research studies
  • Select appropriate tools for data acquisition and storage
  • Identify and address ethical issues
  • Operate within regulatory frameworks
  • Communicate your findings to colleagues and leaders in the field
  • Fund your research

Dates: February 20 – May 10, 2017

Eligibility: MPH, MD, PhD, DMD, or equivalent

Time commitment: 3-5 hours each week
